The surface is only one part of the job

Artificial grass is laid over a prepared base. The finished result depends on excavation, a stable sub-base, the drainage arrangement, careful joins and secure edges. A quote that names only the grass product leaves out much of what determines how the lawn performs.

Choose for the garden, not just the sample

Look at samples outside in daylight. Pile height, density, colour and direction affect the appearance under different conditions. Consider whether the surface is mainly for seating, family use or pets, and ask how the product should be cleaned and brushed.

What a written quote should cover

Request details of the area measured, excavation depth, base materials, drainage, weed membrane if specified, joining method, edge restraint and disposal of spoil. Ask whether access limitations or existing features alter the plan. The quote should identify the chosen product and any manufacturer guidance that applies.

A survey is needed to check levels and water flow. It is the practical starting point for deciding whether artificial grass is suitable for the particular garden.
